A freight broker uses third-party companies to help vendors ship freight all over the world. Brokers in the freight industry are also referred to as 3PL or TPL (Third-Party Logistics) and act as a liaison between shippers and authorized freight carriers who may otherwise never connect.

    From the beginning our carriers are vetted early and often, carriers in our network must:<\/p>\n

    1. Possess the appropriate authority to operate in intrastate or interstate commerce. Authority is granted at the state level, and at the federal level by the DOT and FMCSA.<\/li>\n
    2. Provide a current certificate of insurance evidencing required levels and types of insurance and effective dates, and that the carrier\u2019s insurance is on file with the FMCSA.<\/li>\n
    3. Have a safety rating and\/or CSA safety scores that meet or exceed your standards.<\/li>\n
    4. Have signed a service contract.<\/li>\n
    5.
